Bar Association of Lehigh County Announces $11,000 Grant
from PA Bar Insurance Fund
Grant to Support Continuing Education Programs
(ALLENTOWN, PA) The Bar Association of Lehigh County (BALC) announced today that it has received a $11,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Fund in support of Continuing Legal Education and Professional Development programs. The PA Bar Insurance Fund, at its meeting on June 8, 2012, voted unanimously to approve the grant request in the amount of $11,005.36.
"The Bar Association continues to make strides as the premier professional association for attorneys in the Greater Lehigh Valley," said Ray Bridgeman, Executive Director of BALC. "Through the generosity of the PA Bar Insurance Fund, we are able to continue making investments in our Continuing Legal Education programs and ensure our facility is a top-notch learning environment.”
In 2011, the Bar Association of Lehigh County held over 150 seminars (including the famous Disney Institute) that attracted 2,743 attendees and accredited over 5,720 Continuing Legal Education hours.

The association was officially chartered in 1905 "to advance the science of jurisprudence and the administration of justice, to encourage a thorough legal education, to uphold the honor and dignity of the bar, to cultivate social and professional association among its members, to assist the courts in the orderly and efficient administration of justice and to perpetuate the history of the profession and the memory of its members within this judicial district." Today, the association maintains offices and meeting facilities at 1114 West Walnut Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Services include Continuing Legal Education, a Lawyer Referral Service, Lehigh Law Journal publication, and Barristers' Club banquet and meeting facilities.
